A meeting of the Adviser to the Director General of the Specialized Depository INFINITUM, JSC with management and staff of the State Central Securities Depository of the Republic of Uzbekistan (Central Depository) took place on February 15-16, 2017 in Tashkent. The meeting was organized within the framework of the implementation of INFINITUM strategy for the development of interaction with the markets of the CIS countries.
The key topic of the meeting was the discussion of the future development of the Uzbekistan collective investments market. Currently, the organizational issues of the Specialized Depository control over the management companies are of great interest to the Central Depository. Being one of the market leaders in Russia, INFINITUM is ready to contribute to the Central Depository in developing proposals to establish a system of special depository control in Uzbekistan.
At the request of the management of the Central Depository, the meeting also touched upon the IPO / SPO organization, the possibility of central depositories for the cash settlement, the work of NSD repository, the reform of corporate actions and e-voting technology. In addition, the prospects of the adoption of the concept of a foreign nominee in Uzbekistan were discussed.
The contacts between the Central Depository and INFINITUM on the issues of infrastructure development in Uzbekistan will continue.
